Friday Evening Dump

Sometimes nothing is more refreshing than a big dump, especially one that has been lodged in our national colon as long as Hans von Spakovsky. He is the modern-day face of voter suppression, and naturally, the Bush administration wanted to appoint him to the Federal Election Commission so "the math" of Karl would guarantee a permanent fascist majority.

He withdrew his name today from consideration. The fight to re-establish democracy in America won a battle today.

Left in his wake is the wide confusion between voter fraud and election fraud. One is virtually non-existent and the other is systemic. Guess where Hans spent his time.

For more on this rest ring of a turd blossom, read here, here, here, here and here.

It is good to stand on principle and win one once and awhile which would not have been possible if it were not for the internet. I would've never heard of this asshat. Digby pointed him out to me at first, but I couldn't find a search engine over at Hullabaloo, so I could not provide any links. Nevertheless, read Digby every day.

Big h/t to Think Progress.

it was a relief to see this asshat go. i was also relieved to read that missouri's most recent effort at voter disenfranchisement failed to find support in the legislature and thus will not be on their ballot before the november elections.

i have no doubt that the rethugs will try again, motivated as they will be by the contempt with which they're held almost everywhere. as digby says, though, they're best when operating as insurgents. and at their most dangerous.
