Report Card On Troop Support From OK Delegation

The majority of Americans hate the war in Iraq, but remain steadfast in their support for the troops. One would think that would go double for our elected officials, especially in this hypertensive environment.
The Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) have looked at the voting records of all elected officials and produced a single grade report card for each politician. So how does the Oklahoma delegation fare? Not so good.

Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) D-

Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) F

Congressman John Sullivan (R-OK-1) C

Congressman Dan Boren (D-OK-2) B+

Congressman Frank Lucas (R-OK-3) C

Congressman Tom Cole (R-OK-4) C

Congressman Ernest Istook (R-OK-05) C

So, out of our seven servants, the lone Democrat gets decent marks for actually supporting our troops with supportive legislation, as opposed to lip service and tough talk.
Golf applause please, for Dan Boren.
This is much the case nationally, as Bob Geiger tabulates the report for us here. It is the Democrats, by far, who truly support our troops, as no Republican gets higher than a C and no Democrat gets lower than a B-. Go check out Bob's page, it shows the hypocrisy the Republicans live by.
I wonder how long it will take the rightards to come out and attack our veterans ranking of those who support them, and those who are full of shit.

according to your non-partisan IAAVa nancy pelosi (D) who said "Iraq is not a part of the war on terror" and
Boren (D) from oklahoma who voted to support "Iraq is front of war on terror with no timetable for departure" both got excellent ratings.

You can't have it both ways unless you are just a political hack. (or Gen Wesley Clark)

Sorry, but your "troop support" from Dem's is two faced and thin. This only proves that you can find a partisan political hack anywhere... especially if it is supported by moveon.org.

I will not debate what Pelosi or Boren said in the context of this posting about our veterans.

The entire point of this article was to seperate the wheat from the chaff. This report card was put together by veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. It looked at all facets of actual votes for veteran and troop support.

Dismiss everything I say as a partisan political hack. That's fine, I got big shoulders and can take it. However, to dismiss the needs of our troops, those who defend our shores and borders, can only give aide and comfort to our enemies.

According to the sons and daughters of America who are on the front lines in George Bush's Global War On Terror, this is exactly what our rubber stamp republican congress is doing--ignoring the needs of our military, benefitting Al-Quaeda types worldwide.

Where I come from, action talks and bullshit walks. Republicans have been talking smack and shitting on the heads of our military endangering the lives of every man, woman and child in America.

It's time for a change.

speaking of doing nothing but talking smack and ****ing on the heads of military and endangering the lives of every American.... how about that John Kerry?

And just think...he could have been president, imagine how much he could have trashed the military and cut funding for them. (i voted for the $87Bil before i voted AGAINST it")

If it's support (financial or otherwise) for our military that you are interested in... you won't find it on the Democrat side of the ledger.

Unless of course you consider cutting and running, cutting funding and simply cutting out the military "support".
